EcoSOAR™ Technology reduces
harmful cyanobacteria.
Cyanobacteria and harmful algal blooms have a devastating impact on beaches, lakes and waterways every year.
In a recent report, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers tested how the KRIA Ionizer with EcoSOAR™ technology
affected the harmful cyanobacteria Microcystis aeruginosa, also called blue-green algae, as well as
chlorophyll and the toxin microcystin.
The report found superoxide and cavitation from the ionizer:
- Reduced the cyanobacteria Microcystis aeruginosa by up to 80 percent in five minutes
- Reduced the harmful toxin microcystin by up to 92 percent in five minutes
- Dropped chlorophyll concentrations 80 percent over 40 minutes
- Would be an effective water treatment for shorelines and bays, where harmful algal blooms are most common
